What is Attempt?

The intent of committing a crime and then carrying out some actions towards that criminal act. The person must be competent to commit the crime in order to be charged with attempt to commit that crime. Also, courts usually struggle with how far the person must go in order to consider his actions to be an 'attempt' of a crime. But usually, the person must do more than mere preparation for a crime in order to be guilty for attempted crime.
